Shoreside inn ligger i Shanklin, en kort bit från Shanklin Beach, och erbjuder boende med gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. Everything was perfect. The room was huge with a big balcony and sea view. We had everything we needed in the room, bathroom and balcony. The hosts were great, offering us information about the island, what to do in the evening and where are the best places to just have a relaxing walk. The breakfast was delicious, with us being very pleased with the vegan and gluten free option. The parking is also safe and large enough for everyone.

Staff was friendly, I got room from at the last moment as all the hotel were full in Newport. Break fast was hands down.

Royal London Yacht Club ligger i West Cowes, 25 km från Blackgang Chine, och har en terrass, rökfria rum samt gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen. Wonderful unique property, felt like stepping back in time. Very clean and kept to a high standard with the most wonderful views of the harbour area from our room. The staff welcomed us so warmly and we would definitely stay again. (Also, great shower!)

It was in a great location! Walking distance to everything but in a quiet part of town. The host were extremely nice and helpful and breakfast was delicious.

Haven Hall is magnificent, a real home away from home, a spiritual gateway to a bygone age. The interior design is gorgeous: tastefully restored period furniture from the Edwardian era, charming soft cushions, an exquisitely crafted wooden fireplace from 1906, lovely lampshades everywhere, crystal chandeliers, splendid mantel clocks, model sailboats. From the outside you hear a gentle, trickling sound from a water fountain, coupled with the occasional calls of seagulls. However, when windows are closed, your room is absolutely quiet, you have a perfect serenity, I always had such a good night’s sleep. The garden is incredible: manicured lawns, flowers in full blossom, lavish palm trees, sweeping panoramic views to the sea. Birds and butterflies everywhere. Not even on the Mediterranean have I seen such a beautiful landscape. David and Arielle’s hospitality is second to none. Whenever I sent an inquiry before my arrival, they always replied within minutes. I was welcomed like a privileged friend in their house, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was the highlight of my days. When I mentioned how much I had liked Arielle’s home-made banana bread during my previous stay, she kindly prepared one for the next day, even though it was not yet on the breakfast menu of the season. It was heavenly delicious with rhubarb custard and lemon curd, I could enjoy it every single day. I also adored their Eggs Royale with warm sauce hollandaise. This was my third stay here, but I have already made a new booking for September. I’m ever so happy and proud to have found such a blissful retreat on a fairy-tale island. I simply can’t have enough of this magical world. Highly recommend.

Om du gillar att bada och gå på en massa konserter (Shanklin Theatre) under juni-aug. Då är nog detta rätt ställe. Om du gillar att äta ute, friterat och hatar grönsaker och smak då finns det massor att välja på. Vill du ha grönsaker till det du äter välj matvaruaffärernas färdiga lådor. Mycket populärt och fräscht samt mycket billigare.Detta gäller inte bara på Isle of Wight. Notera att Old Village är några hus på High Street och Church Road.

Trevlig strandpromenad till Shanklin.
Trevlig strandpromenad till Shanklin. Dinosaure Isle rekommenderas för både barn och vuxna (promenadavstånd från centrala Sandown). Isle of Wight Steam Railway är också värt ett besök. Missa inte deras museum "Train Story" som även passar bra för små barn. Tåget från Ryde Pier Head till Sandown funkar smidigt men för alla andra ställen på ön är det buss som gäller.

Vi åkte hit för att hälsa på vänner som bor strax utanför.
Vi åkte hit för att hälsa på vänner som bor strax utanför. Vi hann inte se så mycket av Newport därför kan det vara värt med en resa igen en annan gång. Men ett intryck var att det är pitoreskt både i Newport och i omgivningarna på Isle of Wight. Det verkar vara bra förbindelser med buss i och till och från Newport.

Fin by med en gammal stadsdel.
Fin by med en gammal stadsdel. Härlig strand med fina promenadvägar utmed kusten. Vid stranden finns mycket nöjen för främst barn, flera minigolfbanor och annat. Isle of wight är en vacker ö med mycket att se och göra.
