The atmosphere and staff were great…..friendly and very helpful. We had breakfast each morning and dinner both nights. It was lovely to have food made to order rather than a self service/buffet style breakfast. Dinner was lovely too and very tasty.

The elegant spa town of Harrogate has some of England’s finest Victorian architecture. Lush greenery and colourful flowers also add to the stately atmosphere.
The main attraction is the Turkish Baths and Health Spa, in a 19th-century building which maintains its original Moorish interior design. Nearby is the Royal Pump Room Museum, set over Europe’s strongest sulphur well and detailing the town’s history.
One ongoing Harrogate institution is Bettys Tea Rooms which serves fabulous afternoon tea. Surrounded by the unique shops of the Montpellier Quarter, it overlooks gardens which continue south to meet The Stray – over 200 acres of parkland whose vibrant spring blossom is quite a sight. On the opposite side of town are the Grade II-listed Valley Gardens, whose bandstand hosts summer concerts. The gardens merge into a pine wood which neighbours the acclaimed RHS Harlow Carr Gardens.
Aside from its visual beauty, the town is also important for conferences. Harrogate International Centre is one of the UK’s top convention venues - just one of the reasons why the accommodation industry here is thriving.
Options on Booking.com include 5-star hotels with spas, cheap apartments near the train station, and guest houses with parking. The nearest airport is Leeds Bradford Airport to the south.
Harrogate is the smartest, cleanest town Iv'e ever been in.
Harrogate is the smartest, cleanest town Iv'e ever been in. Loads of green spaces, loads of very smart independent shops, lots of different places to eat and drink I recommend The Taverna (Greek). and the biggest and smartest Weatherspoon's in the country. Lots of interesting local history Overall Brilliant!

Lovely small spa town in North Yorkshire which maintains some of its regency charm. There are still independent and characterful shops. Lots of green parks & gardens, plenty of good restaurants/eateries of all types and levels, including the famous Betty's. Similarly good hotels. guest houses & rental accommodations. RHS Harlow Carr 1 mile out of town is superb any time off year and has a lovely Betty's Tea Room. (access before garden entry) . Easy access to lots of other places or quick train to York.

Most of all, the friendliness and kindness of the locals.
Most of all, the friendliness and kindness of the locals. It has lovely green spaces and parks, interesting and historic buildings (The Royal Hall is particularly magnificent). Great food - we ate dinner at our hotel, The Crown, and The Cattlemen's, and Gianni's - all were excellent. Good for shopping - individual speciality shops such as Woods of Harrogate, and Duttons, being two I sought out as their high quality goods and extensive range are not easy to find even in the vastness of London; as well as the usual high street chains. Close to Knaresborough, Ripon, the dales, and much more we didn't have time to visit. We'll just have to go again.

This was my first trip to Harrogate and it did not disappoint me. Having been to York many times which I thought was a wonderful place to stay, I am now sold on Harrogate. It really is quite unique with all its green and beautifully maintained open spaces, yet there were so many lovely bars, restaurants and gorgeous boutiques to wander round it was a fantastic experience all round. I shall definitely be returning soon with the bonus of being able to go to York for a day whilst there.

We chose Harrogate as a hub for making other local visits but was worth a longer stay. Good range of shops, extensive green parklands and a range of top restaurants. Taverna, a Greek restaurant, was particularly good; warm welcome, friendly staff and excellent food well presented.
Everything was an easy walk from our accommodation, but Harrogate is ideally placed to get to Leeds, York and local countryside.
Our age precludes us from commenting on facilities fore the young, but there were plenty of younger folk clearly having a good time!
Beautiful town… definitely recommend Harry’s walking tour. (Free and very entertaining and informative) we have a tip at the end of it.
Felt safe, lots of restaurants, shops and history. The valley gardens were fabulous too.
We stayed one night here on our way through Yorkshire. Location is wonderful as it is in the heart of Harrogate. The hotel was lovely and the room was really nice - no view out of the window but that is not typically how we rate a hotel based on one night stay there anyway.
We ate in the restaurant - the Fat Badger - and the food was wonderful. The bar area is also a lot of fun.
We were lucky that we found a parking space in their garage as they do warn you that parking is limited.
Overall a great stay and would stay there again.
The breakfast was good, but the bedrooms were nothing like the photos they were cold wallpaper peeling off the beds were old the carpet was threed in parts, bathroom was ok but cold, we had to get extra heaters, we had one small window with a view of a wall covered in pigeon poo, our friend's had a better view, both bedrooms were cold and really dated, I think we were stuck in the attic because we got a discount through booking with you, won't go back to this hotel again
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was very good, with views over the park opposite. The location was very good, with easy access to Harrogate centre. Having a car park next to the hotel was very useful and staff gave advice about how to access it and get the best out of the car parking. The breakfasts were very good, with a good choice. We ate in the restaurant one evening and found the choices and food to be good value and very good quality.
The hotel staff were friendly and did their best to accommodate an early check in for us, which we appreciated.
We didn’t have breakfast included and paid for this on one of the days we stayed (£12.50 pp if booked the night before). The food on offer was plentiful and good.
The hotel is 5-10 mins from the centre of Harrogate, which is convenient, but quite hilly for anyone with mobility issues.
Communication with the hosts was seamless and easy throughout the stay. No detail left out. Beautiful and spacey room that was immaculate. To think i almost booked a run of the mill hotel before stumbling up on this gem is comical. If i ever get the chance yo come back to Harrogate, this is where I’m staying!
The location of the property was great and onsite parking, with it only being a short walk to Harrogate city centre, however it was not made clear when booking that there are two site locations of the aparthotels, and incidentally we were given one that was not pictured in the hotels advertised properties.
The hotel was good value for money, ideally located within easy reach of all Harrogate has to offer. A very comfortable stay and wonderful breakfast. Customer care was excellent in advance of our stay (personal requests for an elderly relay) and throughout our stay. Thank you for a fabulous stay.
The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Harrogate, only a short walk to the shops and restaurants. The room was clean and spacious with all the necessary amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely with many different options to choose from.
Beautiful hotel in the perfect setting. From the moment I arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and fresh with good facilities. Harrogate town centre is within a couple of minutes walk but the hotel overlooks beautiful green parkland.
The location was outstanding in the middle of Harrogate's centre. The hotel was well-maintained and offered a great first impression. The room was comfortable and everything in it felt new and clean. The bathroom was very spacious.
We booked a cosy double room, but when we checked in we had a standard double room which was more spacious. The breakfast was ok with plenty of choice. The hotel location was fantastic, just minutes from the centre of Harrogate.
A super privately run family Hotel. Room was terrific, bed was comfortable, breakfast was delicious and it was a stone throw from the nibble of Harrogate. Great value and would highly recommend.
Very convenient to Harrogate city centre.
Very clean rooms.
Well equipped rooms
Excellent reception desk attention
Car parking in basement of hotel only £10.00 for every 24 hours
If your going to harrogate for the weekend, the Crown Hotel is perfect for that. The location is great everything is on your doorstep so no need for taxis at all.
We have stayed overnight in several hotels in Harrogate over the past 10years or so, this didn't disappoint. The staff mirrored the facilities, exceptional!!
